0013. Bob Ross

Bob Ross is best known as the host of the 1980's PBS TV show, The Joy of Painting. Ross was a gentle, soft-spoken host, sometimes compared to Mr.Rogers in style. In his show, he guided the audience through the completion of a full landscape painting, and later marketed his method and brand of products with great success.

  2. I just found him so soothing. I would watch him in a trance, thinking he was magic or something.

  3. Bob Ross was definitely magic. When I was a kid I used to watch him with awe. I wanted more than anything to be able to create waves and mountains with a smooth flick of a pallet knife before I even knew what a pallet knife was. I remember watching him on TV and getting so jazzed up to draw then sitting at the kitchen table in aunts house getting frustrated beyond belief because I couldn't make things look the way I wanted.
